Mathematical aptitude of prospective students in B.Ed., educational institutions in Puducherry region

The present study has been carried out to examine mathematical aptitude of prospective B.Ed., students. Normative survey method was adopted on a sample of 320 B.Ed., Teacher Trainees from three colleges of education in Puducherry region using simple random sampling technique. To measure mathematical aptitude, the aptitude scale developed by George K. Bennett, Harold G. Seashore and Alexander G. Weisman was used.

India is a country known for its rich diversity. Diversity in languages, culture, geography. Maharashtra is one of the progressive states of India. Marathi is the language popular in Maharashtra. Marathi itself has 12 different dialects along with 38 local languages spoken by adivasis, tribals, nomadic tribals and denotified communities of Maharashtra. In Maharashtra there are different types of schools. Marathi language is main medium of instruction in Government schools. Students who enrol in schools at the age of 6 often have a prior learning of their own mother tongue, which is different from formal Marathi language introduced in the school.

According to National Youth Policy 2014, the 'civic engagement of the youth' is a priority area of holistic vision for the youth of India that is “to empower the youth of the country to achieve their full potential and through them enable India to find its rightful place in the community of nations.”1 There is a need to develop lesson plans that will provide students with knowledge and skills to develop their civic attitude that will help to improve civic engagement of the students.

Improvement In The Creativity In The Writings Of Students In Urdu (a Study)

Language allows children to talk to each other and to write their thoughts and ideas and mother tongue is the most important and comprehensive medium for expression. Children learn to connect individual words with objects, ideas, and actions. In the process they write their thoughts and ideas in very creative ways. Children prefer to learn in creative ways rather than just memorizing information provided by a teacher or parents. It is generally assumed that Children are highly creative, with vivid imaginations, and that they learn by exploring, risking, manipulating, testing, and modifying ideas.

Emotional Intelligence among Junior College Students in Relation to Sex, faculty and Area

This research work is an attempt made to study the Emotional Intelligence among junior college students in relation to sex, faculty and area. For this purpose , a sample comprising of 900 Junior College students was selected randomly from four rural and four urban Junior Colleges of Nagpur District of Maharashtra. Out of this, 450 were boys and 450 girls. The tool used for the study is Emotional Intelligence Scale prepared by researcher. Statistical technique used for the study were't' - test. The result indicate significant differences between rural students and urban students

Attitude of student teachers towards changing relationship between teacher and students.

This study examined the attitude of student teachers towards relationship between teacher and students. The study sample consisted of student teachers of SPPU. The attitude scale is developed by the researcher to gather data using survey method. The objectives of the study are to know the attitude of student teachers along with, to know the attitude difference of student teachers based on male/female, under graduate/post graduate and science/ non-science.
